Step into high gear with his recently taped Ricky Martin MTV Unplugged, the one-hour special. This marks the 19th MTV Unplugged production for MTV Latin America and a first for the newly launched MTV Tr3s. The Unplugged experience is so unique because it allows artists and musicians to reinvent themselves and take risks. During the show, Martin incorporated Caribbean beats through roaring trumpets, accordions, violins, percussions and saxophones to revamp hits such as 'La Bomba', 'Lola Lola' and 'La Plena'. The Puerto Rican sensation was joined onstage with renowned producer and composer Tommy Torres and La Mari of the Spanish electronic flamenco band Chambao, to perform his new song 'Tu Recuerdo'. Martin also performed the new tracks 'La Plena' and 'Con tu Nombre'. The UNICEF Ambassador of Goodwill also took the opportunity to dedicate his show to the children of the World who suffer from oppression, poverty and the casualties of war. The humanitarian will be honored by the Latin Grammys in November 2006 as ''Person of the Year''.
